This week, according to the Google, we bring you strange Canadian by-laws, still on the books in Canada. One that is weird and one that actually kind of makes sense.
No Walking with a Trail of Nails: In Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, there is an old bylaw that makes it illegal to walk down the street leaving a trail of "nails, tacks, or glass" behind you.
The Ladder Paint Ban: In Nova Scotia, it was historically illegal to paint a wooden ladder. Why? Because paint can hide cracks or rot in the wood, making it a "hidden" safety hazard. If you want a colorful ladder, it has to be metal!
Easter Seals: Students…As of Friday, March 27, 2026, at 8:21:30 AM ADT, there was 531,510 seconds, 8,858 minutes, or 147.64 hours remaining until 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026 when Pie the Teacher is supposed to happen. However the only number you need to know is $2. Tickets are sold in HR. HR that sells the most wins a Pizza Party, I heard that 8G was leading the way now with 13 tickets sold or $26. Still need more.
