Music: Concert this week! 

  • Monday: 
    • Final meeting for grade 7 students interested in percussion next year at lunch today. Please come right at 11:55.
  • Tuesday: 
    • Final Grade 9 Band rehearsal before the concert at 7:45 AM!
  • Wednesday:
    • Concert Day!!
    • Band students please be prepared to help with setup for the morning.
    • There will be a concert for the school at 1PM and for parents and the public at 6PM.

 Drama Club:

  • Rehearsal today at lunch in room 221 and today after school from 3:00-4:30 PM on the stage. All cast members are asked to attend.
  • The Drama Club’s production of “Alienated” will be on June 11 at 6:30PM. Admission by donation and item(s) for the food bank will be collected. All are welcome!

Ice Cream Treats and Freezies will be on sale on Tuesday at lunchtime in the cafeteria.

JUNE IS PRIDE MONTH:

  • June is Pride Month.  Pride Month is a vibrant and inclusive month long celebration that honors the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, their history, achievements, and ongoing struggle for equality.  Pride Month has its roots in the Stonewall Riots, which occurred in New York City in June 1969.  Since then, Pride Month has grown as a global movement, encompassing celebrations, activism, and solidarity.

GSA:

  • There will be an important GSA meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 310.  We will have a guest from PEERS Alliance joining us to kick off Pride Month.

Partners for Youth:

  • There will be a quick meeting for all grade 8 students who are part of the Partners for Youth program in the cafeteria at the start of break this morning.

Athletics:

  • Congrats to everyone who competed at the Track and Field Provincials!  
    • Allie MacPherson had an outstanding day! She was 1st 150m, 1st high jump, 2nd 80m.  Elin Smallwood placed 3rd in 1200m and 4th in 800m.  These 2 strong performances led the Bantam Girls Team to claim 2nd overall!  
    • Marley Penny placed 2nd in shot put and 4th in discus.
    • Other placings were: Maizie 4th long jump, Callie 4th high jump, Laura 3rd high jump, Ridley 3rd high jump, Marcus 5th shot put, Olive 6th triple jump, Raya 4th 1200m, Maryn 3rd 2000m, Ramona 7th shot put and Lojin 8th shot put

Flag Football:

  • AAG has a huge playoff game today in Cornwall.  Please arrive ready to warm up at 3pm.  Let Ms. Morrison know at BREAK if you need a ride.
  • AAB playoff game in Cornwall today at 4:30. Players are asked to be at the field ready to play by 4:10. A second game at 5:30 will be played if the teams wins the 4:30 game. If any players are unable to play see Mrs. Steele by morning break.

Field Hockey: 

  • There is a U-16 Summer league at UPEI starting next Monday. Interested players can register at Field hockey PEI.
