Drama Club:
- Rehearsals this week are today and tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, at lunch. All cast members are asked to attend.
Music:
- Today we’re celebrating Music Monday, a special day across Canada that highlights the importance of music in our schools. Music Monday takes place on the first Monday of May and is organized by the Coalition for Music Education in Canada. Schools all across the country are joining together today by singing and playing music.
- Here at Birchwood, we have lots to celebrate!
- Over 150 students are learning to play instruments in our band program, while students in Grades 7, 8, and 9 explore music in a variety of ways through the guitar exploratory, and in the rock bands.
- Music is a powerful way to bring people together. It helps us express ourselves, build confidence, and work as a team. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or create music in any way, music is something we can all share.
- Today, take a moment to appreciate the music in your life—and, if you get the chance, join in and make some music of your own!
- Happy Music Monday!
- We also need to celebrate the efforts of our Grade 8/9 Band students who earned themselves a Silver Standing at the Atlantic Festivals of Music in Halifax last Thursday. Congratulations to our band members.
- Monday: Complimentary Lemon Water at Lunch.
- Tuesday: Grade 9 Band at 7:40.

- Thursday: Grade 8 Band at 7:40. Midnight Rockers at Lunch.
