According to the Google, it will be 27 years since Wayne Gretzky retired from the NHL on Saturday, the same day as Wrestlemania. Now there is no direct connection between the Great One and the GrandDaddy Event of them All, but there is a famous story involving Gretzky and a Hulk Hogan on Christmas Eve way back. Both lived in Thousand Oaks, California, and drove the same car. After using a valet at a local mall, they accidentally took each other's vehicles—meaning Gretzky drove home with Hogan’s family presents and vice versa. They eventually met halfway to swap back. I wonder if Gretzky was giving out Hulk Hogan toys and if Hulk Hogan was giving out Number 99 jerseys.
Triathlon - You can compete as an individual (complete all three disciplines) or as a three person relay (one swimmer, one biker, one runner) Please see Mrs. Steele today for information on how to sign up and to pick up a permission form. The triathlon will be held on May 18th in Summerside.
Spring Sports - Our spring sport season has arrived and students are asked to sign up for the sports they are interested in trying out for.
- Flag football for boys and girls,
- Softball for girls
- Track and field for boys and girls.
Sign up for the events you would like to try. Please take a permission form and return it before the try outs next week.
BADMINTON : Congratulations to NIKO HE and LIAM MCGUIRE. Niko and Liam won the ZONE 3 badminton tournament yesterday. Now the boys move on to the Provincial finals next week.
