Tuesday April 14, 2026

According to the Google, today is the 112th anniversary of the day that the Titanic hit the iceberg which ultimately led to it’s sinking.  It’s also 5 days until Wrestlemania 42. Did you know though that there is a connection between the Titanic and Wrestlemania?  Well the connection is physical. WrestleMania IV (1988) and WrestleMania V (1989) were both held at the Historic Atlantic City Convention Hall in New Jersey

When the RMS Olympic (the Titanic’s nearly identical sister ship) was retired and scrapped in 1935, its luxurious interior fittings were auctioned of and one of the Olympic’s Chandeliers, the massive, ornate light fixtures that once hung in the first-class lounge of the Olympic were purchased and installed in the Ballroom of the Atlantic City Convention Hall. So Hulk Hogan was slamming André the Giant and facing off against Randy Savage under the literal glow of the Titanic's twin.
